1. Purpose:
The purpose of this test is to introduce a standard method for determining the insertion force required for an electronic connector or its protective cover.
2. Sample preparation
The test sample consists of a plug and a contact socket. Unless otherwise specified, the sample shall consist of all available hardware including edges, hoods, clamps, screws, guides or sockets. Unless otherwise specified in the specification, the sample does not need to be lubricated or cleaned by any means.
